Blonde Redhead - Misery Is A Butterfly (2004)
This band never ceases to amaze me. I’m trawling through their entire back catalogue (going back to the mid-90s) where they were first discovered and nurtured by Sonic Youth’s Steve Shelley.
commentsI’ve literally waited months with a few false starts and set backs along the way but have finally got my hands on this wonderful vinyl compilation. This is their first two albums along with singles and eps. And it’s fucking brilliant.
Sloppy, discordant and hypnotic. They tightened up a bit for later releases but have never lost that “we fucking do it our way” approach. Up there!!

commentsGreat to be joined by a ‘proxy’ guest. Tiptop tunes centred on holidays & travel, but that were neither relaxing nor took take us anywhere…
