David Bowie - Station To Station (1976)
Thank fucking Christ for this record! This was a big return to form for the Thin White Duke. Nothing was ever conventional for Bowie after this record.
commentsRemember this was 1977 and the music world was in complete turmoil as punk, temporarily at least, challenged the pomposity and pretentiousness of the mainstream majority.
Somehow, Bowie seemed to be exempt from any critical examination and continued to also misalign with the mainstream. This was Bowie’s bravest move and this record a mark of true genius. Unfortunately, I do not own this on vinyl.

commentsThe single “Young Americans” was a real surprise when I first heard it on the radio. While the R&B sound was hinted at on “David Live” I don’t think anyone was expecting this.
