Dire Straits - Love Over Gold [Tidal] (1982)

A big moment happened today that will potentially have a huge impact on my future consumption of music.

While near the checkout with several albums ready for purchase tucked under my arm, (including this), the realisation suddenly hit me that “I don’t need physical media” anymore. I put them back in the bin pronto.

Paying $29 per month for the best, hi-res streaming service on the planet, gives me access to everything I would ever need. (including this).

Why would I need to part with more ready’s to simply have the same stuff I can play on multiple devices on a slab of plastic or poly vinyl? Today is that moment.

OK, there might be one or two things I need …

The themes were: A relic from the 60’s. Arguably the greatest decade in modern music history. (Prove it!), Nice sound pity about the song. (It doesn’t necessarily have to be naff but must demonstrate high production qualities), A new discovery. (Surprise us with something you believe no one else has heard!)
