As it’s a mix of non-LP singles, tour 7"s, split singles, special-edition EPs and other rarities there’s a real eclectic feel and excitement to proceedings. The guitars and electronics are heavy and the longer-than-usual stretches of cacophony are mesmerising.
In my mind this is one of their best releases.
DavidThere’s more tambourine playing by Laetitia Sadier than actual singing on this record. Apparently she was sick and didn’t get much studio time so the band just played on.

DavidAn end-of-century pre-millennial masterpiece. Letitia Sadier and Mary Hanson are on their best collaborative form, harmonising/counter-harmonising beautifully. The horns introduced in Dots and Loops are more prevalent throughout on this record and there’s a few avant guarde moments in the mix as well.
