Elton John - Tumbleweed Connection (1970)
From 1969’s “Empty Sky” to “1976’s “Blue Moves” (his last great record which I’ve only just began to appreciate), Elton John and Bernie Taupin produced 11 remarkable studio albums.
commentsTo me, “Caribou” it was just another great Elton John record which I enjoyed as much as the others. Back in those days we didn’t really judge or rate records - we just listened.
Even the critically fan panned “Solar Prestige A Gammon” sounds good to these ears. You really had to be there.

commentsI give Elton’s “Your Song” the same respect as I do for Bowie’s “Space Oddity”. Both fantastic songs released within 6 months of each other, but the albums from which these songs originated were never on my radar until much later.
