New Order - Movement (1981)
Just 12 months after the demise of Ian Curtis and Joy Division, New Order (initially “The People’s New Order of Kampuchea”) produced this transitional record to very mixed reviews.
commentsFor me they just haven’t aged well. Their first proper record “Movement” remains bearable and the track “Everything’s Gone Green” is classic transitional JD/NO.
I just think I prefer them as an historical moment in time. Revered then but not treasured in any way now. I have “Movement” on vinyl and everything by Joy Division.
Peter Hook is just a big plonker and can fuck off!

commentsI flipped an “N” on my randomiser. With less than a dozen artists to choose from I went for the midling and picked New Order’s forth record.
