VA - Califia: The Songs of Lee Hazlewood (2010)
Today we journey back to the introspective (read melodramatic!), syrupy, hit-oriented 60’s where production was far more important than the song.

This very quirky compilation “is a soundtrack for a mythical cafĂ© in the mythical north” somewhere in England.
Very subtle and disturbingly Lynchian this is an obvious carry-over from similarly surreal Jane Weaver record the other day.
She even sings a track. Great background music to prepare a meal to and completely mess up the ingredients.

commentsIn this session, we sought out to prove that the fairer sex can still make a racket with six strings, that music isn’t dead (it just smells funny) and that some of the most interesting artists ignore the rule book.
