Lou Reed - New York (1989)
Excluding the Velvet Underground years, Transformer, Rock’n’roll Animal, Lou Reed Live, The Blue Mask, Legendary Hearts, Songs For Drella (with John Cale) and Magic And Loss were always my go to Lou Reed records.
commentsFeaturing the best band he ever assembled, an incredibly talented Robert Quine on guitar (He and Reed hated each other), the amazing Fernando Saunders on bass and Fred Maher on drums.
This is Lou in top form covering quite a big chunk of the Velvets material.

commentsAside from the brilliant and incomparable Lou Reed/David Bowie/Mick Ronson recording that is “Transformer” this is my favourite Lou Reed album.
